About Us

Ghamidi Centre of Islamic Communication is a registered charity in England & Wales (No. 1192764) that has been established to support and promote what we consider to be the true and correct interpretation of Islam. This understanding is primarily based on the Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It refers to the original approach of understanding Islam exemplified by the companions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and revived by prominent scholars of recent times: Hameed Uddin Farahi (d. 1930), Amin Ahsan Islahi (d. 1997) and Javed Ahmd Ghamidi (b. 1951). According to this approach:

  • All that is Islam is constituted by the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Nothing besides these two is Islam or can be regarded as its part.
  • Just like the Qur'an, the Sunnah (practice of the prophet) is only what the Muslims received through ijma (consensus of the companions of the prophet) and tawatur (perpetual adherence of the companions of the prophet).
  • Unlike the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the Hadith only explains and elucidates what is contained in these two sources and also describes the exemplary way in which prophet Muhammad (pbuh) followed Islam.
  • The Shariah is distinct from Fiqh; While the former refers to the divine law, the latter is a collection of interpretations and applications of the Shariah by Muslim jurists. Fiqh is a human endeavour, and therefore subject to human weakness and differences of opinion. A Muslim is not obliged to adhere to a school of Fiqh.

About the Website

Our main aim is to share what we have learnt from the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) through the research and teachings of the scholars named above and their associates. We aim to publish their literature and oral teachings through lectures. We intend to present the pure message of Islam by clarifying many misconceptions about it. We hope that people will watch and read what we are offering and ultimately make their own judgements.
Alhamdulillah, we have been voluntarily doing this disseminating work on social media for many years as a humble effort to have Allah’s mercy on the Day of Judgement. We pray to God for His guidance and support for this work and also welcome any feedback or help from you in supporting our mission.
